Women in maritime
What did you want to become when you were a kid?
My ambitions as a child ranged all the way from helicopter pilot to journalist. Growing up my adventures abroad travelling the world, in combination with a big interest in economics and commerce, made business the obvious choice for pursuing a career.
Why did you choose to work within shipping?
Growing up in the south of Sweden, the ferries linking Sweden to the continent were such a natural part of our infrastructure. It is absolutely thrilling to be part of the work we do to connect Europe.
What is your best work-related memory?
Without a doubt, all the ones when we as a team have hunkered down to solve commercial challenges, overcome operational obstacles, and create new solutions to improve services to our customers. Our people are at the core of our business.
Who has been your role model?
Besides Pippi Longstocking? I have had the great fortune of working with several inspiring leaders within Stena, who have taught me so many things. Most recently Annika Hult (now deputy CEO of Stena AB).
