Sustainability
We are a company with a long-term perspective and a good reputation that we do our best to protect. We promote safety, a good work-life balance and we seek to be reliable in everything we do. For 60 years, it’s been our passion to care for our customers and employees by putting safety first and ensuring everyone feels welcome.
We work hard to prevent accidents and incidents happening to our employees, customers, properties or the environment, ashore and onboard. As a caring company, we take our responsibility for the health and wellbeing of everyone who comes aboard our vessels, enters our ports or terminals, and visits our offices very seriously. It is also about protecting everyone’s right to be who they are, without limits.
Good health & well-being
As an employer, we care about our people – our most valuable asset. Good health and well-being is one of our focus areas (LINK) as part of our Sustainability plan. We are making a conscious effort to cultivate a culture of care and respect to support our people to be the best versions of themselves, in work and in life. We do specific activities connected to this focus area to raise awareness on topics such as mental illness, what support we offer as an employer and how our people can support each other.
‘Our efforts are driven by our goal of strengthening the body and mind of our people, for them to become the best possible versions of themselves. By empowering our people, they can thrive in both work and life.’
Margareta Jensen Dickson, Chief People and Communications Officer
Safety first – ashore and onboard
When it comes to safety first, always – that is true for everyone at Stena Line no matter if you work at sea, in one of our ports or in the office. We hold safety drills regularly across all work areas, such as fire drills at the office, mass evacuation of the vessels in cooperation with shore-side authorities and mandatory Health & Safety training for all of our port employees.
‘Safety on board and ashore is of the highest priority for us at Stena Line.’
Jörgen Lorén, Safety & Security Manager
Safety is one of our absolute commitments – we do not put risk against reward when it comes to safety. Working together to put safety first at all times is the key to success.
The journey starts with us.
