We will ensure there is always a sustainable offer in all customer touchpoints and we will encourage our consumers to take the ‘better choice’.
Our approach
Every year, we welcome around 3 million guests on board our 18 travel and freight routes. Our customers are increasingly conscious in how their choices impact the environment. By providing them with options that help reduce their impact on the environment, we reduce our impact and help ensure they continue to choose us as their supplier.
We want to position ourselves as the sustainable choice for our customers. We are building on our existing work in this area and ensuring there are sustainable initiatives and products that connect with and add value to the customer experience in all customer touchpoints. This will range from EV fast charging stations in our ports to reducing unnecessary packaging onboard to designing digital customer offers that promote sustainable choices.
Our actions
Travel
• We are designing a programme to reward our members for sustainable choices. • We are providing a facility to make a charitable donation at point of sale.
Ports and terminals
• We are establishing EV fast stations in several of our ports. • We are exploring the opportunity to offer priority boarding to electric trucks.
Freight
• We are working with our top 20 customers to identify appropriate green offers. • We are designing intermodal solutions.
Onboard
• We are reducing single-use plastics and packaging. • We are introducing more sustainable meal options and products in our shops.
