Payroll Specialist
Location – Glasgow
Contract - Permanent
Salary - 30,000 to 33,000 DOE
Hybrid Working - 2 days home working/3 days office based
Stena Line’s Payroll and HR Service Centre is a recently created function based in Glasgow who have a crucial part to play in our employee's journey. They are a team of individuals focused on providing 1st line payroll administration and HR advice, managing and resolving employee enquiries and queries.
We are now looking for a Payroll Specialist to join the team.
Some of your key responsibilities:
- Responsible for processing payrolls from start to finish ensuring payments are made according to the agreed deadlines
- Ensure payroll data is actioned in a timely and accurate manner
- Reconciling the payrolls to ensure accuracy of calculation and prepare the necessary documentation
- Guarantee all funding for payrolls, bank files and cost files are produced and actioned in a timely and accurate manner
- Responsible for third party payments and communication with the necessary partners to ensure timely payment
- Reconciliation for month end
- Preparation and submission to the finance system of the month end payroll journals
- Assist HRSC with any payroll queries that are raised
- Support other team members and provide cover for their payroll responsibilities as and when required
- To assist the Payroll & Benefits Manager with testing of any payroll system changes that are applied

In a qualitative and professional way, the team manage and process payrolls on a monthly basis.
You will co-ordinate with HR, Crewing and the Vessels to ensure that the data is actioned in a swift and correct manner. Attention to detail is key in this role, as is the ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment ensuring that an exceptionally high level of service and accuracy is provided throughout the business.

Qualifications:
- At least 3 years payroll experience
- Knowledge of international seafarers payroll would be an advantage
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, with an added focus on excel
- Fantastic communications skills

The role is hybrid working where you will be located in our Glasgow office and also work from home 2 days a week.
