Junior IT Support Specialist
Location: Belfast or Cairnryan
Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 (DOE)
Contract: Full time, permanent.

As part of Stena Group IT, you’ll play a key role in delivering and supporting the critical infrastructure that underpins much of the Stena Sphere, supporting approximately 7,500 users across 3,800 workplaces, 99 offices, and 43 vessels in over 20 countries.

Some of your key responsibilities:
- Provide on-site IT support to users, ensuring workstations and equipment meet operational needs.
- Install and configure hardware such as desktops, laptops, monitors, and printers, including basic network patching.
- Act as the local contact for IT issues, liaising with users, suppliers, and Stena Group IT.
- Support the rollout of new systems, software, and hardware.
- Handle local procurement of approved IT equipment in line with guidelines.
- Manage local IT-related supplier agreements where applicable.
- Conduct scheduled visits to ports and vessels for on-site support.
- Log and resolve incidents and requests using ServiceNow.
- Provide occasional out-of-hours support for critical issues.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and support local user training when needed.
What you will experience
As a Junior IT Support Specialist, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting Stena Line’s IT operations, ensuring reliable, efficient, and compliant on-site support. You'll assist users with their IT needs, manage hardware installations, and act as the key local contact between Stena Group IT, users, and external partners. With a focus on service, collaboration, and continuous improvement, you’ll help keep our systems running smoothly across offices, ports, and vessels, contributing to the high standards and operational reliability that Stena Line is known for.

We’re looking for someone proactive and adaptable, ready to manage day-to-day IT challenges, ensure reliable support, and contribute to the smooth running of our operations.
Requirements:
- Technical Knowledge: Experience with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments, along with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Networking Skills: Understanding of network configurations, connectivity troubleshooting, and security protocols.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to assist users and document solutions.
- Customer Service Orientation: Previous experience assisting users with technical issues while maintaining a professional and user-friendly approach.
- Hardware Maintenance: Experience with installing, configuring, and repairing computers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Software Installation & Updates: Knowledge of installing and maintaining software applications, including security updates.
