Fleet Superintendent (Recruitment for AML)

Some of your key responsibilities:
- As Fleet Superintendent you are the first point of contact between ship and shore for technical matters.
- Daily responsibility for the vessel´s operational budget and investments, and responsibility for maintenance, repairs and dry dockings in conjunction with the Shipboard Senior Management team.
- Advising the Fleet Director on deviations from the planned budget, what actions may be taken to reduce expenditures where the budget is exceeded or where expenses could be further reduced.
- Attending and sailing with the vessels on a regular basis to ensure their safe and reliable operation in accordance with Company SMS
- In conjunction with the Fleet Captain, ensure that the Fleet Director is notified as quickly as possible if the safe and efficient running of a vessel is affected in any way.
- Reviewing of vessel purchase and service orders, ensuring the vessels are adequately supplied with spare parts, oils and other consumables in a timely manner as per Company Purchasing Procedures.
- Monitoring daily operations and coordinating between vessels to render necessary assistance.
- Responsible for technical operations on the vessel including compliance with statutory legislative requirements and ensuring all required certification remains valid.
- Monitoring of vessel performance including their energy consumption.
- Assessing and improving performance of operational work/activities carried out on the vessel.
-Monitoring, reviewing and analysing technical incident reports to ensure the stated corrective and preventative action are appropriate to minimise the possibility of recurrence.
- Liaison, as required, with external agencies such as Flag State, Class, P&I Clubs.
- To carry out audits and inspections onboard as per company procedures.
- Informing the Designated Person about any serious safety and/or pollution related incidents which may not have been properly reported.
- Ensure shipboard procedures are in accordance with Company SMS and statutory requirements.

Qualifications:
-Certificate of competency STCW II/2 (unlimited) or bachelor’s degree in marine engineering or similar or sufficient experience in Technical Operations role within Fleet Operations.
- Experience as a Chief Engineer preferably with a minimum 3-year sea time or experience from a Fleet Superintendent role.
- Leadership experience of leading and guiding Chief Engineers
- Experience with dry docking and project management
- Extensive knowledge in ISM and ISPS as well as operations, technical and safety of vessels.
- Financial knowledge of budgets and cost control.
- Good understanding of the key concepts of Health and Safety
- Knowledge of incident investigation and Root Cause Analysis
- Fluent in spoken and written English and French
- Spanish and Arabic is a plus
- If applicable, able to obtain permission to work in Morocco (VISA)
