Full responsibility in supply chain
We want to help build a sustainable, just and fair society by taking full responsibility for our supply chains and communities.
Our approach
At Stena Line, we recognise that working responsibly and systematically with our value chain and the communities we interact with contributes to engaged employees, stronger risk management and a clearer understanding of our impact. With a diverse and international supplier base, we have been working for many years to understand and address our influence across different parts of the supply chain. We are now preparing for new and evolving regulatory frameworks on corporate due diligence and aligning our processes accordingly.
Our aim is to strengthen our approach to human rights due diligence and improve how we identify, assess and address supply chain risks. This work is informed by the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, which provide recognised principles for responsible business conduct. Together with our suppliers, the wider Stena network and trade unions, we are developing updated policies and clearer processes related to labour rights, human rights, anti-corruption and environmental topics across our value chain.
Our actions
We have established a Supplier Code of Conduct that sets the minimum requirements for all companies working with Stena Line, including direct suppliers and their sub-suppliers. As an integral part of all agreements, it outlines expectations related to labour rights, human rights, environmental topics and ethical business conduct. Complementing this, Stena Line has an Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy supported by regular employee training, strengthening our ability to identify and address risks linked to human rights, corruption and other compliance matters across our operations and supply chain. Risk identification and assessment are ongoing parts of our work, taking into account geographical factors and applying deeper analysis where higher risks are observed. Supplier performance is monitored in relation to our compliance and sustainability expectations, with follow-up actions taken whenever deviations are identified.
