We’re looking for an HSSE Partner who is passionate about creating safer, smarter and more resilient operations. If you thrive on collaboration, continuous improvement and helping people do the right thing, this role gives you the opportunity to influence across multiple sites, shape best practice and champion a proactive safety culture.this strategic and highly collaborative role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to Regional Ports & Terminals management on all matters relating to Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE). You’ll help ensure our management systems not only meet regulations and ISO standards, but are consistently applied, understood and embedded throughout our operations.
Working closely with the Group Head of Port Safety & Security, operational leaders and HSSE colleagues across the network, you will support governance, compliance, audits, risk management and continuous improvement — all with a strong emphasis on partnership and engagement.
This is a role for someone who wants to influence at multiple levels, build great working relationships, and help define what “good” looks like across our Ports & Terminals.
Some of your key responsibilities
- Provide expert HSSE guidance to Ports & Terminals management, supporting the development and implementation of frameworks that uphold strong safety, security, environmental and quality standards.
- Evaluate the impact of new or changing legislation and communicate implications to responsible managers.
- Support compliance with ISO 14001, ISPS, and ADR/IMDG requirements, ensuring company policies and statutory obligations are met.
- Act as an auditor for HSSE management systems, helping to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Champion proactive safety culture, supporting leaders at all levels to embed safe behaviours and effective risk management.
- Maintain HSSE documentation, including the Safety Management System, SOPs/PSOPs, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Maintain and update Environmental Risk Registers at ISO‑accredited sites.
- Conduct ad‑hoc safety and ISPS inspections, report findings, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Investigate accidents and near‑miss events, identifying root causes and recommending improvements.
- Identify training and certification needs to support local practices and legislative requirements.
- Provide ongoing support to the Group Head of Port Safety & Security and the wider Ports & Terminals management team.

Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) — NEBOSH Diploma preferred
- NEBOSH Environmental Certificate (or equivalent)
- Internal auditing qualification
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Power BI & Copilot
- Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage stakeholders across multiple sites
- Willingness to travel across the Ports & Terminals network
