Accommodation Refurbishment Technician
As Ship Service Refurbishment Technician, you are responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining interior fixtures, fittings, furnishings, and related equipment on board Stena Line vessels. The role ensures all refurbishment work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, international standards, and applicable maritime regulations.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and upkeep of materials and equipment across vessel accommodation and public areas.
- Build, repair, and refurbish interior structures such as cabinets, doors, flooring, wet units, galleys, bulkheads, and other fixtures and fittings.
- Maintain and repair furniture and installations within, but not limited to:
- All accommodation areas and Public spaces.
- Restrooms
- Crew rooms and Crew areas
- Carry out repairs involving carpets, tiles, ceilings, and light steelwork.
- Remove and reinstall ceilings and bulkheads as required to access piping, electrical systems, or other infrastructure.
- Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment are properly handled, stored, and maintained.
- Keep the Accommodation Refurbishment Lead and wider team fully informed of progress, issues, and any matters requiring attention.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, suppliers, and onboard teams to complete refurbishment tasks safely and efficiently.

Qualifications:
- Appropriate certifications as required by maritime regulations and company standards.
- Strong technical understanding of carpentry, woodwork, general maintenance, and repair practices.
- Previous experience in a similar technical role onboard passengers’ vessels.
- Proven experience as a fitter working on interior installations for cruise ships, yachts, or comparable marine refurbishment projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- High attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a shipboard environment.
- Effective communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant procedures and regulations.
You will be working with multiple vendors, suppliers and partners and collaborate with internal departments, including Safety & Security and other operational stakeholders.
Please note that regular travel and time onboard vessels are required.
We will support you to get all necessary documentation and arrange all trainings, if needed.
