What does a cadetship include and why choose Stena Line?

Deck Cadetship
We offer a number of Deck cadetships. As a deck officer cadet you will be a part of the ships management team, you will learn vessel steering and navigation and ensure the overall safe operation of our vessels. Subjects on this course include Bridge watchkeeping, stability, chartwork and emergency response & communications.
Engineering Cadetship
We offer a number of Engine cadetships. As a marine engineering cadet, you will learn about the maintenance of the vessel’s engine room and mechanical machinery. Subjects on this course include, marine legislation, marine propulsion, thermodynamics, and workshop skills.
Electrotechnical Cadetship
We offer a number of Electro-Technical cadetships. As an Electro Technical cadet you will learn about the running and maintenance of our vessels electro-technical equipment. Subjects on this course include mathematics for electrical engineers, engineering science, radio communications and electrical principles and systems.

The Must-haves
A minimum of four National 5’s/GSCE at grade C or above which must include Maths, English and a Science based subject
Hold a valid UK/EEA Passport
Have been a resident of the UK for the last 36 months
Successful candidates must be able to obtain an unrestricted ENG1 certificate before commencing on the program
Interested?
Our vessels depart from Belfast, Cairnryan, Holyhead, Dublin, Liverpool, Fishguard and Rosslare.
