Port Service Operative

Key Responsibilities
- Driving a Tugmaster to transfer trailers on and off vessels safely and efficiently.
- Mooring and assisting in the loading/unloading of vessels on arrival.
- Traffic marshalling of freight and passenger vehicles for safe embarkation and disembarkation.
- Housekeeping of port areas and other routine duties as required.
Shift Pattern
This role operates on a structured two-week rolling rota and will require you to work split shifts. You will work seven days out of every 14, with designated days off scheduled throughout the rotation.
This schedule provides clear, set working hours, making it easier to manage commitments outside of work.

We are looking for reliable, adaptable, and proactive individuals with strong teamworking skills who can handle a fast-paced, operational environment. Candidates must:
- Work effectively under pressure and maintain high safety and service standards.
- Follow structured processes and adapt to training on new equipment.
- Live within commuting distance of Belfast to accommodate split shifts.

You are a dependable and safety-conscious professional with hands-on experience operating large vehicles such as HGVs, Tugmasters, or agricultural machinery. You thrive in fast-paced, operational environments and bring a proactive, team-oriented mindset to every shift. With a strong commitment to safety and service standards, you are adaptable to structured processes and eager to learn new equipment and procedures. Living within commuting distance of Belfast, you are well-prepared to meet the demands of a split-shift schedule and contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of port activities. Your excellent communication skills and customer-focused approach make you a valuable asset to any team.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience operating large vehicles such as HGVs, Tugmasters, or agricultural machinery.
- Previous exposure to port operations or similar logistics environments is advantageous.
- Full, clean driving license.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and structured operational procedures.
