Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Duty Manager at our Holyhead operation. This is a permanent, full-time position working 42 hours per week, where you will play a key role in leading the day-to-day operation, ensuring the safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery of our port and vessel services.
As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing operational teams, ensuring high standards of performance, safety and customer service are consistently achieved. You will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, coordinating activities across departments to ensure the efficient delivery of our operations while maintaining compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
We're looking for a confident and proactive leader with proven experience of managing teams in a fast-paced operational environment. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships, influence stakeholders at all levels and make sound decisions under pressure. Some of your key responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership, coaching and direction to the operational team.
- Lead performance management, employee development, succession planning and employee engagement activities.
- Manage the day-to-day operation to deliver safe, efficient port operations and maintain vessel schedules.
- Foster a caring, inclusive and collaborative working environment.
- Champion digital ways of working and support the adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Ensure customer expectations are consistently met through the delivery of a high-quality service.
- Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory Health & Safety requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks and workplace inspections.
- Ensure compliance with the ISPS Code and local security requirements.
- Manage operational resources to deliver safe and efficient port operations in line with Stena Line values.
- Maintain accurate and timely communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Identify training and development needs and ensure operational employees receive the appropriate training.
- Build effective relationships with external stakeholders, including port authorities, contractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate responses to emergencies or critical incidents and ensure employees are trained in emergency procedures.
