As a Deck Trainee Apprentice, you’ll dive into our comprehensive Skills Development Program under an Apprenticeship Agreement. This unique opportunity allows you to:
- Gain Technical Expertise: Acquire essential knowledge and hands-on experience.
- Develop Practical Skills: Learn and apply new skills in real-world settings.
- Enhance Interpersonal Abilities: Build the functional and social skills needed for a successful maritime career.
Our program combines on-the-job training with classroom learning, ensuring you get the best of both worlds. Practice and perfect your skills in a real work environment while receiving excellent maritime training and education.
The apprenticeship will begin on 3rd February 2025.
Must haves:
18 years old at the time of application
Must have the right to work in the UK and be resident in the UK
Ability to express ideas clearly and effectively in both spoken and written forms.
Course Content:
Maritime sector overview
Survival in the water during maritime emergencies
Emergency first aid in response to maritime accidents or medical emergencies
Maritime security
Maritime employment environmental health and safety practice
Vessel fire prevention and firefighting
Vessel ropework anchoring and mooring operations
Securing a vessel for passage
Vessel construction and stability
Basic vessel watchkeeping
Control Operation of Survival Craft and Rescue Boat
In Addition Apprentices will also be required to complete the following courses :
Functional skills levels 1&2 in literacy and numeracy, Employer Rights and Responsibilities, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills, Enclosed Spaces, Designated Security Duties, Efficient Deck Hand Certificate, STCW Basic Safety Training and ENG1 Medical Examination.
