Deck Rating
Are you a Deck rating looking for a great work-life balance? Stena Line is recruiting Deck Ratings with passenger vessel experience to join our fleet pool!
In this role, you will support our engine teams onboard while developing your skills and knowledge on our vessels. You will have no set location and have the opportunity to work on all of our Irish Sea vessels.
Some of your key responsibilities:
- The deck ratings are responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient completion of the duties required by the chief officers standing work routines, planned maintenance jobs, operational duties, mooring/ unmooring, loading/unloading, marshalling of traffic, securing/ unlashing of vehicles and general maintenance to the parts of the vessel managed by the chief officer including cleaning, painting and greasing.
- Carrying out duties as set in the muster list during any emergency.
- Carrying out lookout and general bridge duties as directed.
- Carrying out fire and safety patrols as directed.
- Assisting in the maintenance of all firefighting, safety and lifesaving equipment.
- Attending all statutory fire and safety drills onboard and assisting in training as required by the master.

The role involves various working hours, as our ships run on a 24-hour schedule. Onboard, you have access to the gym and communal crew areas, where you can relax with your colleagues.

Qualifications
- Fluent in English
- Able Seafarer Deck CoC (II/5)
- Full STCW training and ENG1 Medical
- Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat training
- Passenger vessel experience is preferred
